Simply placing the pickups at different points on the body and providing a few tone controls was considered enough. I own the Aggie pre and it is awesome! It's originally Olympic white and has yellowed oh so cool over the years. The original cloth wiring is in there up to the electronics, but it appears someone swapped the entire electronics set and guard for something more modern.

I didn't even think about upgrading the bridge but if I get the bass I will look into it, along with a tortise shell pickguard that I think would look incredible with the natural body and rosewood fingerboard. For certain, this guitar feels tougher to play than more modern Standards and super-tweaked Custom Shop models.
